BRING BACK THE NCAA FOOTBALL VIDEO GAME!!!!

Connecticut university cancelled the 2020 fall football season for their college team due to being afraid of COVID-19 infections spreading to the point where every player, coach, athletic trainer, staff member would die.

The Mid-American Athletic Conference (MAC) just announced that they will be suspending the 2020 fall football season for all the teams in their conference because of fear that the COVID-19 virus will infect and kill everyone in the world.

The SEC, Big Ten, Big 12 and Pac 12 conferences have all decided to man-up and play a conference-only schedule for the 2020 fall football season, but even those schedules are subject to cancellation base on whether teams stay healthy.

Therefore, it’s time.  There’s no argument…

It’s time to bring back the NCAA football video game.

It’s time to take the gridiron season to a digital format and to let the players play it out on the digital spectrum.

It’s time to let players team up and stream their games online.  To let coaches select players on their teams who have achieved high grade point averages to compete for their schools.  Most of all, it’s time to let the players earn a little spending cash by giving them a stipend for playing the game they love online for the school they attend.

Here’s how it could work:

Let’s use a fake game for an example…LSU vs Oklahoma  (not actually scheduled)

  1.  Oklahoma and LSU would select anywhere from 50 – 100 players from each team to compete.
  2.  Coaches would make multiple teams of 2.
  3.  The teams from LSU would be matched up against teams from the opposing school and the games would all be played on a streaming service (Twitch).
  4.  After all the games are played, combine the wins and losses and the team with the most wins gets the victory.  For any ties, the combined points scored would be the tie breaker.  (for example, If 50 teams from LSU win a combined 35 games and Oklahoma wins a combined 15 games, therefore, LSU would get the victory on the schedule…OU gets the loss.  The season record would be:  LSU – 1 win 0 loss.  Oklahoma 0 win – 1 loss).
  5.  Games would be scheduled through the week for multiple teams so it didn’t cause bandwidth issues.
  6.  After the regular season is over, schedule a 16 team playoff with the teams that have the overall best records.  (yeah…I know…16 team playoff?  wth?  How could that work in real life?)
  7.  All the other teams that have at least 6 wins can play a “bowl game”.  That way the players can still get the rewards from playing in a bowl game.  (if you didn’t know players got rewards from playing in a bowl game…you do now.)
  8.  All games would be commercial free… advertisements for sponsors would be posted on the screen as the games are played.  Players would get a stipend for playing.
  9.  Games would be recorded and replayed later on network tv or youtube or twitch or whatever.

Obviously, there would need to be some tweaks, but it could work.  — Play the season digitally and let the players have some fun!

So, I’m imploring the powers that be pathetic…..

BRING BACK THE NCAA COLLEGE FOOTBALL VIDEO GAME!!!!

Now is the time!  Make it happen!!!!
