Stop Grieving and Go

And the LORD said…

“How long will you grieve over Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel?

Fill your horn with oil and go; I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have selected a king for Myself among his sons.”

I Samuel 16:1

  1. There used to be time limit on grief in ancient days, a period of mourning and then you had to put it away. I’ve always liked that concept, grieve passionately for a season and than let it go. Today in the modern world we tend to say “take all the time you want” or “grief is a process,” or “it takes time.” Than we wind up with people still grieving and angry about things that happened 20 yrs ago. We weren’t designed to be trapped in grief, anger, and bitterness for all of our lives, but sadly that is where some people get stuck.

Thinking about the last election here and some people….for crying out loud, just get over it. 😉
