Friends Friday Funny – That’s What She Said

Friends Cast

After a long week at my very exhausting workplace, nothing makes me feel better than for me to head home, order a pizza, plop down on my couch, turn on Netflix streaming and watch mindless episodes of television shows I’ve already seen.

Yeah…my life isn’t ‘somewhat’ pathetic, it IS pathetic.

With that being said, most of you are probably aware that all ten seasons of Friends are now streaming on Netflix; and if you didn’t know that, you do now.

So this past weekend, as I watched the first 30 episodes combined between season’s one and two, a couple things occurred to me .

First, I hadn’t showered in two days; and second, if the character Michael Scott from ‘The Office’ were on the show, he would have been in comedy heaven.

That's what she saidThe writers of Friends didn’t know it at the time, but there are a ton of lines in every episode that could be followed by the phrase, “that’s what she said!”

If you’re doubting my humoristic abilities to find the funny in life, I have complied a list of phrases taken from only THREE (3) episodes of Friends for your reading and entertainment pleasure.  — I know…it’s pathetic —  As you read them, think of Monica, Chandler, Ross, Rachel and Phoebe saying each line and then Joey with that devious smile utter the phrase, “That’s what she said”.

*************************************************

.

Hey, this is really, really huge.

No, It’s really tiny, small and miniature.

It opens so easily.

The softer, the better.

I didn’t know you had another level.

I’ll be good, I promise.

Can’t do it, can ya?

It was really hard for me.

I just had a pulled pork sandwich.

What’s bigger than huge?

You have to really want to see it.

Maybe you’d like to do mine.

I’m incredibly anal and an unbelievable control freak.

Sorry I was late.

You won’t feel a thing.

Why don’t you come on in.

Was that too much pressure for you?

You won’t even taste it?

So, you just happened to leave it in there.

Would you like a juice box?

For a second there I was like, whooooa!

Stop with the broom, I’m not making any noise.

That’s strange, I can still sense his presence in the building.

I’d call that excessive.

My gosh, that’s a big head.

Enjoy the gentle comedy.

Whip it out! Whip it out!

You told me it was a nubbin.

What happens if you flick it?

Does it do anything special?

Pressing my third nipple opens the delivery entrance to the magical land of Narnia.

Can you hold this for a second?

You know, it still smells like monkey in there.

Did you ever figure out what that thing is for?

By the way, this didn’t seem so dorky out in the hall.

I’m not in a real “Hootie” place right now.

Do we always have to do everything together?

That would be the work of a blowfish.

Again, these were taken from only three episodes of Friends.

Combining Friends with “That’s what she said” jokes is pathetic.

(but you have to admit…it’s hysterical.)

  1. Yup. Watching reruns of comedy shows you’ve already seen and listening to jokes you’ve already laughed at is pretty pathetic but that just makes us bond cause we’re all doing it.
We’re all so excited that Friends is on Netflix even though we watched it when it aired, watched reruns all through the 12 years since it ended and now, we’re carving time out to watch them again. Pathetic is fun!!

  2. As someone that loves Michael Scott and Friends…this is hilarious!! Seriously hilarious!! Watching Friends will never be the same for me but you know what, I love it! Thanks for the amazing insight! You’re awesome!! I love TV, too! My life would not be the same without it! 🙂 Have a great day!

  3. You know what’s really sad? I’ve never seen an episode of Friends, but I have the theme song on my iPod. I guess because it was a constant staple of my childhood. That song. On the radio. All the damn time.

I have a Netflix account, but lack the motivation to log on. Perhaps I should, and see why people are talking about Friends years after its last episode. And I remember that being a big deal too, in either 2003, 2004, or 2005. That period is a blur for me.

But thank you for adding yet another thing to my “List of Fun Things to Do.”

  4. Now I know I’m getting old. I enjoyed Friends briefly when it was originally on but when I stumble on a rerun I can’t bear more than a minute or two of it. I never cared much for Seinfeld either though. I must be broken.

  5. To think I was just watching Friends last night. Apparently, I am not the only one living a pathetic life. I watch Friends every chance I get. And I like how we are using Joey for the “That’s what she said” line. Totally fitting and hilarious in that voice of his! He was made for that line lol

    • “Totally fitting and hilarious in that voice of his! He was made for that line.” — Thank you! 😉

I thought of him as I was typing this up the other night and couldn’t resist putting him in that place. Glad to see another Friends fan in the herd of cattle we have gathered here on my blog. 🙂 My favorite episode of all time is the one where Chandler is trying to lose weight and Monica is assisting him. What about you?

      • Im not sure which one my favorite is yet. I always pick one and ditch it after the next. Im undecided. Also, I find it funny that Ross irritated the heck out of me but then I still find him funny. He is nicely pathetic and plays his role pretty well. I will update you when I pick a favorite 😊

        • I agree that Ross is pathetic and irritating, but when he and Monica start the whole brother/sister battles, he’s a perfect fit in the show and I find him hilarious.

Oh..and I loved the Season 3 Thanksgiving episode with the football game and the “Gellar Cup”. LOL…just thinking about it makes me laugh.

  6. You took a show I couldn’t watch for any length of time and made the material work. For a moment. A long moment. 🙂

“Pressing my third nipple opens the delivery entrance to the magical land of Narnia.”

Where the hell did that come from?  I guess it only works with the TWSS approach…

  7. That’s really pathetic, I never did watch more than one episode of: Freinds, it’s too pathetic and that Jennifer Aniston is pathetic too, walking around like its some kind of big deal that she was with Brad Pitt at the time, like he has any taste in women, anyway, I mean look at who he is marred to now: Botox Face Angela Jolie.

      • Watch: Nashville, it’s pathetic too and the “stars” all have Botox faces too but at least the music is good off and on.
Some good lines snuck in too, it’s on netflix, pls if you live in the US, you can watch the latest episodes on abc.

I mean, I don’t buy Netflix anymore, got it free three times for one month each time with a different credit card! ran out of shows to watch after that, however, everything is on the net for free, so why pay for Netflix anyway?
Since you do have Netlix, watch: Heartland

        I love that series!

        • Thank you, Genie for the suggestion. I tried to get into Heartland, but I couldn’t watch it. Not appealing to me for some reason. I have been watching other shows, like Foyle’s War which I love and a few of the food channel shows, so I’m not only focused on Friends.

          Also, I can’t watch Nashville…actually, I can’t watch much of what’s on television because it’s all pathetic.

          • That’s pathetic. You can’t wach television on television but you will watch tv episodes on Netlix, pathetic, plus Heeartland, is fab, Foyle’s War, is all about stupid stuff like men who think they are smart and heros, pathetic.

            • You’re opinion about Foyle’s War is pathetic. It’s about a police detective in Great Britain during the second world war and he’s solving cases. It’s nothing about hero’s and men who think they’re smart…that’s not pathetic…that’s awesome!
